Stock on the Outside, Serious Underneath
The Body
Deliberately Understated
A stock 1940 Ford Standard fixed coupe body — not the fancier Deluxe — finished in Sikkens Obsidian Black with chrome headlight covers. Standard cars didn't come with jump seats from the factory; this one has them anyway.
The Heart
A 1958 Chrysler 392 Hemi
Built by Jim Swedberg, an old drag racer, and fed by dual Edelbrock performance carburetors — a serious piece of American V8 history hiding under plain black steel.
The Chassis
Custom Engineering, Stock Stance
A stock '40 Ford chassis with Custom Engineering underneath: Heidts front suspension on coilover struts, Wilwood power brakes and power steering up front, leaf springs, drum brakes, and an 8-inch Ford rearend out back. Wheelsmith Rally wheels and Coker whitewalls keep the look period-correct.
The Cabin
Comfort Hidden in Plain Sight
The original dash and gauges — good enough to win a Classic Instruments Trophy Dash Award — a stock '40 Ford steering wheel, and Vic Kitchens leather seats and door panels (the same trimmer who did all of Boyd Coddington's work years ago). Vintage Air, power windows, a leather-upholstered trunk, and ABS power brakes round it out — plus a hidden audio system, with speakers built into the original heater housings.
